| There are many things to consider before hiring a renovator: |
1) Space:
- How big is the home and how much space do you want to devote to the kitchen area?
- Is it going to be adjoined to a dining area where space for a large banquet table and buffet will be included?
- Will your kitchen be multipurpose? That is, will it be workspace for other duties like an office or homework space?
- Is there going to be an island?
- Will it include a breakfast nook?
- Will there be a laundry area attached? (This has to do with plumbing)

2) Cabinets:
- What are your storage needs?
- How much counter space do you need?
- What type of cabinets do you want?
- What hardware design do you want?
- Back splash and wall design

3) Flooring
- Type of flooring: tile, cork, linoleum, etc.
- Is the floor going to be heated?

4) Lighting:
- Track lighting, overhead lighting, sconces, cabinets lighting (Electrical concerns)

Then you can make up several different kitchen designs until you get the one that suits you and your lifestyle. These renderings will be helpful to your kitchen renovation contractor. |
